General Shipping Information

Delivery dates are estimates and we do not guarantee that delays outside of our control will not occur. Schedule your installation dates only after your order is received. If you require a specific or guaranteed date of delivery contact us to make arrangements. Additional fees may apply for expedited deliveries. There are no deliveries on weekends or holidays.

Deliveries from freights are typically dropped off in the driveway and you must arrange for a way to transport the flooring into your home.

It is critical that we have up to date contact information so that either the freight company or one of our representatives can contact you if need be. Usually a cellphone number is the most convenient option. Clear and quick communication will help avoid many problems that could possibly arise with delivery.

After You Place Your Order

We ship the majority of our orders between 1-5 business days after receiving payment. Transit time can vary but the estimated time ranges from 1-10 business days. Our LTL orders are shipped with very reputable national carriers such as USF Holland, FedEx Freight, R&L, Estes and more. We ship smaller orders with Fedex, UPS and the Postal Service. If the shipping address and the billing address do not match then additional verification maybe necessary before shipping.

In the case that you order both flooring and molding each will be shipped separately. Molding will be shipped through FedEx or other carriers.

We will email you a confirmation as soon as the shipment is sent. This confirmation will contain the name of the freight carrier along with a trackingnumber and website which will allow you to track the order. Upon material arrival at the local freight terminal a representative from the freight companywill call you to schedule the delivery date and time. As an alternative you can contact the freight company to schedule the delivery using the tracking number and shipping confirmation provided by us in the confirmation email. Again, providing an up to date and convenient contact information is critical for clear communication and therefore a quick delivery.

Order Verification

The security and safety of customer transactions is of the utmost importanceto German Flooring. Therefore, any order over $500 from first time customers with different billing and shipping addresses require additional verification. It is a relatively painless and one-time verification that helps keep you protected. A temporary hold is placed on the order until the
verification process is completed. We reserve the right to deny any shipments that have not completed this verification process. Overall, this policy increases your security and protects our valued customers.

Request for a Hold or Delayed Shipment Date

We can provide storage only for orders paid in full and for only 2 calendar weeks. In the event that you need us to store or delay an order for longer than 2 weeks then it will be subject to additional storage and processing fees.

Delivery Options

Residential Deliveries

Delivery orders for all residential addresses will be curbside deliveries. The freight company responsible for the delivery will contact you via the contact information you provided to determine the delivery time. The drivers are not permitted to enter your home or obligated to move any material into the house. Any shipments consisting of more than 15 boxes will be shipped with a freight that has a lift gate service. Boxes weigh about 35 lbs so arrangements may be necessary to move the items into the house. These arrangements are the responsibility of the customer. A person needs to be present to accept the delivery and is responsible for inspecting the cartons for any external damage and order quantity before signing documents.

Guaranteed Date of Delivery

Guaranteed and specific delivery dates are considered a premium service. After placing your order one of our representatives will contact you to determine and schedule the most convenient date for you. Alternatively, youcan contact us regarding inquiries about this service.

Business Deliveries

In addition to residential deliveries we can also ship to a non-residential location. In-home businesses are exempt from being classified as non-residential. The property must be equipped with a shipping dock or a functional forklift must be present on the property to assist in the delivery. Additionally, the business must be open until 5 PM (local time). Non-residential deliveries are delivered without prior notification.

Terminal Pickup

Another option is to pick up your order from the nearest local freight terminal. This option is often the most convenient option for rural areas or addresses that are difficult to reach. The customer is responsible for moving the order into the house. This shipping option is priced the same as a
Business Delivery and we can assist you in finding the closest freight terminal to your location.

Feel free to pick up your order directly from our warehouse that is located 9946 Mills Station Rd. Sacramento, CA 95827. Call us if you have any questions about our business hours or location. On-site purchases are subjectto Sacramento County Sales Tax.

Pickup Options

Orders and pickup times can be completed online. Our warehouse is located at 9946 Mills Station Rd. Sacramento, CA 95827. Business hours in which we accommodate pickups are as follows:

  • Monday 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Tuesday 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Wednesday 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Thursday 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Friday 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Saturday 9 AM – 3 PM
  • Sunday – Closed

Shipping Fees

Any orders exceeding 5 boxes are considered “freight shipping” and are therefore shipped on a pallet. Upon checkout, shipping fees will be calculated. Shipments that are shipped to residential addresses will be curbside deliveries and will have a lift gate service to assist in delivery. Transport of material into the residence itself is NOT included in the freight charge. Orders are usually expedited between 1-5 business days from the warehouse and take between 1-10 business days to be transported.

The flat freight shipping rate does not include areas:

  • Driveways with restricted access
  • Areas where standard delivery is not possible (this applies to some rural areas)
  • Chicago, Downtown New York or other major cities
  • Secluded islands without bridge access

Free Shipping on Flooring

For some selected products we offer free residential shipping to 48 US States. Usually, a minimum purchase is required for such offers to apply. These orders are considered residential shipments and are curbside delivery. Again, the transport of materials into the residence itself is not included.

Shipping of Smaller Orders (5 boxes or less)

Orders that are small or lower than 5 boxes in quantity are shipped as bundles through UPS Ground, USPS or FedEx. These orders are typically expedited between 1-5 business days upon receiving of payment. Transit time is typically 1-10 business days. The order is delivered to your doorstep and a signature is not required for such orders. The transport of materials into the residence is not required. It is best practice to move such orders inside as quickly as possible. If damage occurs due to weather conditions such as rain after shipping is completed a refund will not be administered. Deliveries are not completed on holidays or weekends for these type of deliveries.

Change of Shipping Address – Reconsignment

The following rules and regulations apply when changing a shipping address for an order:

  • You must call Customer Service to obtain required authorizations,
    instructions and cost of reconsignment.
  • The fraud prevention verification procedure will be restarted and we will
    decline to ship any orders to an unverified address.
  • – The customer is responsible for any Reconsignment Fees.
  • Addresses on any orders that were payed via PayPal must be changed prior
    to ordering and can NOT be changed after an order is placed.

Order Tracking

We will email you a confirmation as soon as the shipment is sent. If the order was shipped to a terminal we will provide the terminal address and contact information in the email. Typically, a representative from the freight terminal will contact you once the order has arrived to schedule a pickup time. We highly recommend that our clients track the status of delivery and contact the terminal to schedule a pickup time to assure a smooth delivery process.

Delivery Preparation

Once the order arrives it is the customers responsibility to verify the shippingdocuments and the shipment contents for accuracy or damage to goods. Moldings may ship separately from the skid.

Prior to signing delivery paperwork inspect the paperwork and shipment contents for accuracy. Also check for any damages to the shipment that might have happened during transport. Note any issues, regardless of size orimportance, on the delivery receipt. Replacements and refundscannot be issued if no confirmation of damage is noted on the delivery receipt.

Should damage be found on any of the shipment at the time of delivery make sure to document the issue on the delivery receipt of the driver. Also, contact German Flooring as soon as possible. We work with reputable carriers who we trust to deliver your order and respond to any issues with the utmost professionalism.

If for some reason damage is discovered after you have signed the delivery receipts you are responsible for filing an insurance claim with the freight carrier. Claims must be made within 24 hours of the arrival of the shipment. Please contact us if you need any assistance with this.

Please move your order into your residence as quickly as possible. German Flooring is not liable for materials damaged by negligence on the part of the customer or weather conditions such as rain after the delivery is complete.

What To Do in Case of Damage

Do not refuse the order if damage is discovered upon shipment arrival. Take careful notes on any damages or issues with the shipment and note them on the driver’s delivery receipt. Afterwards, contact German Flooring as soon as possible. If the damages are not documented on the delivery receipt we will be unable to replace or provide a refund for the damaged shipment. Please follow this 3-step Damage Procedure:

  1. Prior to signing any delivery documents please note all the damage in detail on the driver’s delivery receipt. Provide as many specific details as possible.
  2. Document any of the damage you notice by taking photos.
  3. Contact us as soon as possible or email us right after at support@germanflooring.com.

We take these types of claims very seriously and will handle your issue with care and attention. When applicable we can provide replacement of goods orissue credit. If a replacement of material goods is warranted we will work hard to expedite the replacement shipment whenever possible. We take great care to fully secure our orders and each skid order leaves the shop strapped, shrink wrapped and cornered. We take pride in our work and each order leaves the warehouse in good shape. Therefore, if even slight damage is noticed please note it on the delivery receipt of the driver.

In the rare case that a shipment arrives in poor packaging condition or is not secured as it should be (for example, if it is not strapped properly or has no shrink wrap or boxes are loose) please contact us as soon as possible before the driver leaves. Damage that is noticed after the driver has left should be reported as soon as possible to make sure a solution is found in an efficient manner. Damage claims after delivery are subject to approval by freight carriers and if you sign for an order before inspecting or noticing damage to
an order you are responsible for filing an insurance claim with the freight carrier no later than 24 hours after shipment is delivered.

Replacement and Return

Your satisfaction is important to us. We work hard to resolve any issues to thebest of our abilities and you can expect clear and prompt communication, great service and fair treatment. If you are not satisfied with any order please call us. A Customer Service Representative who is knowledgeable about our policies will provide you with information about refunds, product exchange or repair and give you detailed instructions about how to handle the return process. It is very helpful if you have your invoice ready when contacting us.

Exchange or Return

If you are dissatisfied with a product you may return or exchange it within 30days of the purchase date. However, German Flooring does not accept exchanges or returns after 30 days of purchase. Furthermore, exchanges or returns will not be allowed for any boxes that have been opened or tamperedwith, any close-out orders, any special deals, any clearance items, any odd lots, any hardwood moldings. Products are only eligible for return if they are unused, were stored properly and are still in their original packages. Any products that are installed are considered as accepted by the Buyer and cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstance. Delivery or shipping charges are not considered refundable and each return or exchangemust be approved by German Flooring. Any orders that are damaged from improper storage, inclement weather or improper care after delivery. This include even waterproof vinyl products.

Please contact us or email us to arrange an exchange or return. Products thathave been pre-approved by German Flooring for return must be prepared according to German Flooring standards to prevent potential damage. After the return is received, inspected and approved by our warehouse a refund will be issued.

Orders in Transit

Any order that is already shipped or in transit cannot be cancelled and these types of cases will be handled as an exchange or return.

Shipping

Any charges associated with shipping or delivery are considered non-refundable and the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. The return and exchange policy only applies to unused products that have remained in their original packaging and are prepped for shipping according to German Flooring standards to avoid any potential damage while being transported. Shipping Damage or Errors

In the case that you are not satisfied with a purchase due to missing items, damage that occurred during transit or shipping mistakes you qualify for an exchange or return under German Flooring’s 30-Day Return Policy. Contact usno later than three days upon product delivery to report the issue.

Refund

Refunds will not be issued for any opened, used or damaged items.

For Refunds:

  • If the original order was purchased by Cash or Check the refund will be sent by check between 3-5 weeks of refund approval.
  • If the original order was purchased using a Credit or Debit Card the refund will be issued through the original payment form within 3-10 business days.

30-Day Return Policy

We stand by our products and hope that you love them as much as we do, however, if something is not to your liking please inform us.

We can refund your money or exchange the item for something new. If an item is returned within a 30 days of purchase then a full refund for the price of the item before shipping costs can be made.

Shipping charges are not considered refundable and it is the customer’s responsibility to ship the product or products back at their own expense. Any product that is returned must be unused and in its original packaging. It must
also be packaged to German Flooring specification as to avoid any potential harm to the products during transport. German Flooring only guarantees this return policy for 30 Days and this policy does not cover any opened boxes, close-outs, final sales, odd lots, special deals, clearance items or special orders unless the product is defective. This return policy also does not apply to any products that were damaged due to improper storage after transport.

Manufacturer’s Warranty

Manufacturer’s usually require that a claim be filed through the retailer from which you originally purchased a product. So, if you need to file a claim with the manufacturing company then German Flooring is available and willing to assist with this process. Warranties offered by manufacturing companies generally require that the customer contact an authorized dealer to get a claim number and complete an inspection process to verify the damage to the product.

At the onset of the warranty process German Flooring will request detailed photos of the defects and a description of the issue. Some manufacturer’s may even require a sample of the defective product to verify the damage.

A manufacturer in some cases can send an independent inspector to get more information about the quality claim. The cost of the independent inspection will be paid by the manufacturer in most cases. Based on these findings German Flooring will issue any applicable refunds or discounts. German Flooring only provides applicable manufacturer’s warranties and do not submit to any warranties other than those provided by the manufacturer (expressed or implied). This encompasses any warranty or suitability of any products for a specific purpose and no options will be available except any outlined and provided by the manufacturer’s warranty. German Flooring will not be held responsible for any expenses, lost time, inconvenience or damage due to a problem about which a claim is made under any circumstances.

Liability for Shipping

The customer fees, discharges and waives German Flooring or any German Flooring employees for any cost, damage, loss, or claim and will indemnify, save and agree to not prosecute due to any damage, cost, injury or loss due to or relating to the loading, unloading or transport of the products.

Disclaimer Regarding Moldings

Some moldings are not exact color or shades matches to trims. Moldings are manufactured as closely to the color necessary as possible, however, shade differences and color differences may occur. As such, moldings that do not exactly match in color or shade are not considered a defect and no claims will be accepted for issues arising from this reason. In some cases moldings are customized and special ordered—these can not be returned in any circumstance. As mentioned previously, if a return or cancelation is necessary for an order after shipment occurs then you are responsible for return shipping and freight charges.
